Patience Print

This photograph was taken in 2003 to promote George’s fifth and final studio album ‘Patience’. The title track, also called ‘Patience’ was written & recorded on the same piano that John Lennon wrote and recorded his global peace anthem ‘Imagine’ which George later bought at auction in October 2000. George later said, ‘I just thought for somebody to buy the piano simply as an investment, the way people buy art now, would be really sad. I thought, it should stay on display. I thought that a musician should buy it. The title song was written on that by me and then played on that by someone else. My piano playing is not good enough for what I wanted to do. I could write it but live, I wouldn’t have played it well’
