Older Print

This photograph was taken in 1996 as part of a photo session for the Older Album artwork and its promotion. George wrote Older based on his experience after losing his partner Anselmo. He later said, "The period of grief, which was roughly two years, I didn't write a note of music. And then the absolute knowledge that the next album I was going to write would be about grief & recovery. Older is, in my opinion, my greatest moment." Originally released in 1996, Older spent three weeks at Number 1 in the UK and spawned 6 singles, including Fastlove and Jesus To A Child. The album was a huge global success achieving 6x platinum in the UK, as well as being verified platinum in another 22 countries.
